چکیده
Infestation of interior walls buildings with fungal mould is a reason for health concern which exacerbated in energy-efficient that limit air circulation. Both mycological and mycotoxicological studies are needed to determine the potential hazards residents. In this paper, rare case occurrence Stachybotrys chartarum an apartment building Lubuskie Province Poland has been described. Isolated as major constituent mixed mycobiota, its specific relevance still needs be carefully analyzed biochemical aptitude synthesis mycotoxins may expressed at different levels. Therefore, ecotoxicological tests were performed using two bioindicators: Dugesia tigrina Girard Daphnia magna Straus. D. was used first time examine toxicity S. chartarum. The showed strain belonged third fourth classes according Liebmann’s classification. moderately toxic on Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) culture medium (toxicity class III), slightly Malt Extract (MEA) IV). Toxicity additionally tested by instrumental analytical methods (LC-MS/MS). This method allowed identification 13 metabolites (five reported eight unspecific metabolites). Spirocyclic drimanes detected considerable quantities (ng/g); higher concentration observed stachybotryamide (109,000 PDA 62,500 MEA) lower stachybotrylactam (27,100 46,300 MEA). explain result through bioindicators. Highly compounds such satratoxins not found sample. confirms applicability bioindicators, also show mutual compatibility, suitable tools assess moulds.

The Pathogenicity of Stachybotrys chartarum.
Stachybotrys chartarum is a dematiaceous fungus that is ubiquitous in our living environment. This fungus has long been regarded as non-pathogenic and its inhalation effect on humans has been scarcely studied. Recently, however, epidemiologic studies on acute idiopathic pulmonary hemorrhage in infants suggested that the fungus might be potentially pathogenic to humans. To determine the pathogen...
متن کاملIndoor mold, toxigenic fungi, and Stachybotrys chartarum: infectious disease perspective.
Damp buildings often have a moldy smell or obvious mold growth; some molds are human pathogens. This has caused concern regarding health effects of moldy indoor environments and has resulted in many studies of moisture- and mold-damaged buildings. Recently, there have been reports of severe illness as a result of indoor mold exposure, particularly due to Stachybotrys chartarum. While many autho...
متن کاملCryptic species in Stachybotrys chartarum.
Stachybotrys chartarum has received much attention as a possible cause of sick-building syndrome. Because morphological species recognition in fungi can hide diversity, we applied a phylogenetic approach to search for cryptic species. We examined 23 isolates from the San Francisco Bay Area, and another seven from around the US. Using markers we developed for three polymorphic protein coding loc...

The existence of airborne mycotoxins in mold-contaminated buildings has long been hypothesized to be a potential occupant health risk. However, little work has been done to demonstrate the presence of these compounds in such environments. The presence of airborne macrocyclic trichothecene mycotoxins in indoor environments with known Stachybotrys chartarum contamination was therefore investigate...
